| jul 31 2006 | | Privatisation of Sovereign Nations. | Capitalism taken to its logical extreme.
The American empire is now privatising sovereign nations as part of a corporate agenda. This is not a new process see Hawaii invaded in 1893 on the behest of the sugar plantation owners, themselves the second generation of a bunch of Yankee missionaries, don’t get me started on the ‘great improvers’; or the puppet Shah in Iran at the pleas of the oil companies; or when in 1954 United Fruit employed the Central Intelligence Agency to overthrow the progressive Arbenz government in Guatemala. The difference now more than ever before it’s the corporatists who own the administration. They decide who gets elected and what policies are pursued. All these advances have escalated through first the medium of television to manipulate the populace and now computers control and speed up the process. Now if as you read this you are innocent and have never heard of the any of the above events, then start Googling. The information is out there and you need to wake up.
The great part is that the electorate who has been duped into believing that the democratic process is there to work on their behalf, actually agree to the cutting of their social programmes which they have been told by the media corporations are necessary for their security, so that the funds can be diverted to the industrial military corporations to fight the various terrorist elements around the globe that America creates by the use of its foreign policy.
This is how it works. The American empire invades and occupies a sovereign nation, the reason is immaterial. During the invasion they destroy as much of the infrastructure of that nation as possible. We are talking roads, hospitals, ports, electric generation capacity, water treatment facilities, and industrial capacity. Have I missed anything? The American taxpayer picks up the tab for the military cost. The administration installs a puppet regime and provides security, which can be either army or private. If they get it wrong and install someone who actually cares about his country it doesn’t matter as he can be erased and replaced. The black ops people then do all they can to create civil war, usually through ethic or religious conflict. This is to ensure they can point to the need for their continued occupation. The administration then tenders or more often gives contracts to the corporatists who put them in power and they start to milk the country and be paid by the American taxpayer. Kinda like getting paid at both ends. Coming from the country that has the best organised crime set-up it looks like big business has learnt well from the mob.
Along the way the President signs Executive Orders, which are neat things that completely bypass Congress, as if that would be a problem but make things run real smooth for the corporations. As an example, oil corporations operating in Iraq have been granted total legal immunity from prosecution for any crime. Now you may imagine this is to get around unions, health and safety practices and those irritating rights that workers in the west have. In practice it means they could use slave labour, ignore safety, pollute until their hearts are content and there is no means of making them accountable. In their newly privatized nation the corporations are above the law.
So go back through history and examine how the process operates and who profits. Then all this misery and human suffering that America and her friends are promulgating around the world makes sense. Or watch CNN, vote for your Presidential candidate, pay your taxes and ignore what is happening in the world like a good citizen.
