There are thousands of people who earn a very secure comfortable living from them as the money trickles down through various pockets. Think of the billions that have gone into cancer charities in particular. Not much relief for all that money. Still no cure for cancer, in fact there are more cancers now ever before. More people with cancer than ever before. More money than ever before being solicited from sophisticated marketing campaigns.
However, there are diseases in the world that could be completely eradicated with a few carefully placed dollars/euros/pounds etc. unfortunately there are now so many vested interests involved in charities that directing money where it would be effective has zero chance of being adopted. Charities are now all about becoming bigger and bigger, so they have more money to spend on promoting themselves to become bigger and bigger. You get the picture. So don’t go expecting a cure anytime soon, it has always been just around the corner.
Here’s a frightening fact. During WII a soldier died every 5 seconds; today one human being dies of drinking contaminated water every 3.5 seconds.
Sack all the expensive lawyers, marketing people, accounts, media personnel, directors, advertisers, promoters, and spend just that money giving people clean drinking water.
Fact: contaminated water kills more people than Aids, contagious diseases, conflicts or the thing they try to scare us with to get our money, Cancer.
