| july 13 2007 | | Friday the thirteenth. | So I get home from work and the first thing I do is go to kitco.com to see how gold did today. There it is showing at US$666 per ounce. So I check the dollar and there it is, measured against the basket of currencies at 80.39 which is only the ultimate support level for the last couple of decades.
So I do a quick recap just to keep things in perspective and not to jump to any conclusions, but by any stretch of the imagination I have to ask what are the odds of gold closing at the “mark of the beast” on Friday the 13th, with the US dollar teetering over the chasm?
Quietly I count my gold coin collection and try to estimate if it would be sufficient to sustain me through the travails that lie ahead. Clearly the answer is no, so it is back onto ebay site and yet another successful bid on a Maple Leaf coin.
Spooky though today has been, I think we are three to five years of escalating events from the real problems that we will encounter.
Keep buying gold.
